Dear Monday-haters, I assure you that by the end of this post, you will all treat Monday just like any other day of the week.

Have you ever felt insecure about everything that you do during the day? Or felt like you are purposeless in life? And feeling like a plastic bag, just floating upon the surface without enjoying anything? Oh, and of course you realized that all of these moods have something in common, right? The word Monday might ring some bells.

Now lean back and keep on reading this post because some words for you to defeat this war between you and Monday and beat the Monday blues! Let’s get real, drinking great amount of coffee is only an escape.

 

 

  1. Prepare yourself for Monday in advance.

    You should be prepared from Sunday for all of the obstacles you might have to live through on Monday. Think of this as having to give an important presentation. You have to prepare in advance. Don’t for get to go to bed early on Sunday and get a good sleep. Lastly, be more organised: listing what you have to do the night before can help you be more productive.

 

  1. Start your day early.

    Monday is known as a day being famous with its torpidity. But it is not a day to be lazy, so get yourself out of the bed as quickly as possible. If you hit the snooze button of your alarm, you will probably stay in bed for an extra hour, talking from experience.

  

  1. Wear an outfit that makes you feel good.

    “What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts go so fast. Fashion is instant language” says Miuccia Prada. You can change how you feel by choosing a good outfit to wear, one that makes you feel confident and ready to take over the world. Your thoughts and actions will positively be affected by your appearance in the mirror. Your clothes will also be the first impression you give to others.

 

  1. Enjoy your day with your latest favorite songs.

    Another suggestion that will help you see things from a brighter side is what you listen to during the day. Don’t say you cannot take time to listen to music on Mondays due to the workload at your school/workplace/home. You are driving to your office? Great. Turn the volume on and even sing along the songs. Need to do housework at home? You can listen to your playlist while washing the dishes or mopping the floor. You will see how this ritual alters your mood.

 

  1. Arrange a course or training on Monday.

    One of the most important things that will increase your energy on Mondays is taking a course/training involving one of your hobbies. You will be prepared for a new week while feeling fresh. Are you taking courses (language, cooking, acting) in your daily life? Is there a better time to schedule it than Mondays? You will be surprised how this contribute to your daily motivation heavily.

 

  1. Socialize with friends.

    On the day you feel blue, it wouldn’t be wise to stay inside. Meet up with your friends, talk to them, and try not to be introverted. Tell them how is your day going, how you feel and interact with them to learn their thoughts as well. Go have lunch, coffee and just chit chat. Knowing that you will be seeing a familiar face and having fun later on the day will increase your motivation!

 

  1. Last but not least, the most powerful thing to do is to have a warm smile on your face.

    Biologically, smiling has positive effects on improving one’s mood. Smiling is a privilege and it looks unique on everyone. And the best part is that smiling is contagious! Don’t spend a day without smiling 🙂
