The odds of improving one’s hand in poker are based on the probability of the highest-ranked hand. In poker, if a player has two pairs, a second pair wins. If there is only one five-of-a-kind hand, the higher card wins. If the players have four five-of-a-kind hands, the higher-ranking hand will win.
