Poker is a card game where players bet on the combination of their cards. The highest poker hand wins. Players can also win by bluffing. If a player suspects another player is bluffing, they may raise or call their bet.<\/p>\n
A pot is an amount of money that each player contributes to. This is usually the sum of all the players’ bets. During the last betting round, a showdown occurs. When a showdown takes place, the player with the highest poker hand will take the pot.<\/p>\n
Poker is played by a group of people around an oval table. Each person receives a set of cards. These cards are dealt face up. One of the cards is hidden and called a hole card.<\/p>\n
The next player to the left of the big blind, who is the first to bet, is called the “big better”. If the big better folds, the player to his left is the “big foldr”.<\/p>\n
After the initial dealer, cards are dealt one at a time. In the Hold’em variant, two hole cards are dealt to each player. Omaha, Stud and other variations require the player to make a bet in each round.<\/p>\n
Cards are then shuffled by the dealer. The dealer has the last right to shuffle. He may shuffle the cards to a communal pile or to create a community pile.<\/p>\n
Once the dealer has finished shuffle, he deals each player a card, or a number of cards, face up. Some poker games use wild cards. All four deuces are considered wild.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
