Casino – A Movie About Corruption and Greed

The dazzling lights, flashy decor and upbeat sounds create a manufactured euphoria that draws people in and keeps them coming back. Casinos also waft scented scents throughout their ventilation systems to stimulate the senses and make players feel like they are on a high.

Modern casinos have a lot to offer their customers: restaurants, free drinks and stage shows. They also offer a wide selection of casino games, from simple slot machines to video poker where some skill is involved. But even if a casino has the best amenities, it is still just a place where people can gamble on games of chance and try their luck.

Gambling is a huge industry and casinos are large enterprises that bring in a lot of money for their local communities. Despite the violence and bloodshed in the movie, Scorsese never resorts to gratuitous shock tactics or over the top characters.
